Hackers hit Twitter and Facebook

Micro-blogging services Twitter and social networking site Facebook have been severely disrupted by hackers.

Twitter was offline for more than two hours while the services in the Facebook were disrupted. This attack was made inconvenient to the Twitter and Facebook’s users. The Twitter customers or users are unable to make the services of online banks, credit card payment gateways and others. Fortunately, the services were restored shortly and no user data was at risk. It ensures that users have the fast and reliable experiences and services.

The companies need to take actions to fend off the attack. It is believed that Denial-of –services (DOS) attacks take various forms and need effort to disable them. DOS attacks often use network of computers which is known as botnets and is controlled by the hackers.

These attacks highlighted that the vulnerability of the sites of Twitter and Facebook. The related companies need to take some emergency actions to prevent the next attacks by hackers. This is purposely to protect the users to have a secure and efficient website to interact with.
